Empowering Hope: 135 Widows in Miango Receives Agricultural Support Ahead of Farming Season

In a timely humanitarian gesture, a non-profit organization has empowered 135 widowed women in Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria, with essential agricultural items.

The support comes just before the onset of the rainy season, enabling these women—whose husbands were brutally killed in attacks by Fulani herdsmen—to cultivate their farms and provide food for their families.

This initiative is aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by vulnerable widows who have been largely neglected by the Nigerian government and left at the mercy of God.

In addition to this support, the community is still reeling from a recent coordinated attack by Fulani militias that claimed the lives of over 52 people—mostly women and children—and left thousands displaced.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Mary, expressed heartfelt gratitude, urging the government and other support groups to urgently intervene and provide more assistance.

The widows were delighted to receive farming inputs such as maize, soya beans, and rice seedlings, as well as fertilizer, knapsack sprayers, and chemicals, among other items.

The community’s woman leader also extended her appreciation, noting that while this support is a lifeline, many more widows in the area remain in dire need of similar help. She prayed for continued support and intervention from well-meaning individuals and organizations.

As the community continues to face series of attack the remain resolute and steadfast in prayer hoping that more supports may come there way.
