Niger Delta Youth Leader Fajoye Sends Easter Message, Commends Oborevwori, Pondi, Tompolo—Urges President Tinubu to Act Swiftly

Prominent Niger Delta youth activist, Comrade Gbenga Fajoye, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently address the growing security challenges across the country. Speaking in his hometown of Warri, Delta State, shortly after Easter Sunday service, Fajoye expressed deep concern over the alarming wave of killings and violence that have rocked several regions in recent weeks.

He noted that the scale of bloodshed witnessed in the last two weeks alone is deeply troubling and requires immediate and decisive action from the presidency.

“I want to use this Easter Sunday to urge President Tinubu to act swiftly and decisively against terrorists, bandits, and all criminal elements wreaking havoc across the country. These people must be exterminated before more innocent lives are lost,” Fajoye said.

He referenced swift actions taken by the federal government in other regions and questioned the perceived inaction following the gruesome killings in Plateau and Benue states.

“In Rivers State, where no lives were lost, a state of emergency was declared. In Uromi, where hunters were killed, arrests were made within days. But in Plateau and Benue, over 140 innocent men and women were slaughtered, and yet, little seems to have been done. This is unacceptable,” he lamented.

Fajoye, who also serves as the Chairman of the Association of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria, Delta State Chapter, warned that continued inaction could push frustrated Nigerians into resorting to self-help.

“I pray we don’t reach the point where citizens begin to arm themselves for protection. To avoid that, the government must act decisively now,” he added.

On a more positive note, Fajoye applauded Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his proactive leadership and development-driven initiatives. He highlighted how the Governor’s administration has reduced unemployment and improved infrastructure across the state.

“Governor Oborevwori has truly transformed Delta State. His projects have modernized our communities and provided opportunities for our youths,” he said.

He also praised High Chief Kestin Pondi and Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) for their continued contributions to youth empowerment and security in the region.

“Kestin Pondi and Tompolo have not only created hundreds of jobs for young people but have also played key roles in keeping the waterways secure from oil theft and criminal elements,” Fajoye noted.

In conclusion, the youth leader expressed optimism about Delta State’s future, crediting the current leadership for setting the foundation for sustained growth and peace.

“With the kind of leadership we have today in Delta State, the future looks promising,” he affirmed.
