NUC Approves 18 Full-Time Courses for New Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia

KADUNA – The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation for 18 undergraduate programmes at the newly established Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK), located in Southern Kaduna State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the approval was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the university’s Registrar, Prof. Sanusi Gambo, on behalf of the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. William Qurix.

Prof. Qurix revealed that the accredited programmes—which span disciplines in basic medical sciences, allied health sciences, computing, and environmental studies—will officially commence with the 2025/2026 academic session. He noted that the NUC’s approval followed a successful resource verification and revalidation exercise.

Describing the development as a “collective triumph,” Prof. Qurix said the milestone signals FUASK’s readiness to emerge as a hub for applied scientific and technological excellence.

Medical Laboratory Science

Radiography

Health Information Management

Anatomy

Physiology

B.Sc. Biotechnology

B.Sc. Microbiology

B.Sc. Software Engineering

B.Sc. Information Technology

B.Sc. Cyber Security

B.Sc. Environmental Resource Management

B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry

B.Sc. Architecture

B.Sc. Quantity Surveying

Prof. Qurix thanked the NUC for its continued support, describing the approval as a strong endorsement of FUASK’s vision to deliver cutting-edge, industry-relevant education.
